Abstract

Protons at energies up to a few 100keV have been accelerated, by irradiating thin Al foils with an intense, fs laser pulses. The produced energetic protons, directed on a massive natural B sample, induced p $+^11$ B fusion reactions accompanied by alpha particles emission, detected by a CR39 plate.
