p+2=P<sub>2</sub> in short intervals


Abstract


Twin prime problem is well known in number theory. Sieve methods can only detect almost-primes because of parity phenomenon.Switching principle allowed Chen to get P<sub>2</sub>. By a suitable weighted sieve, we prove that the representation p + 2 = P<sub>2</sub> occurs with the expected frequency in short intervals.
